Best approach for travel
I'll be traveling for the nxt few wks & wonder the best way to deal w URp & my data file.
Should I load both program & data file onto a compact flash card for transport or what? Then on return, just copy it over to main machine HD or what? Thanks in advance for your advice. |

If you're not taking your computer with you, that's a good way to take UR with you.

OK, both of you.... I guess I'll just have to attach my Vaio laptop to the flash card. I thought I could save some weight for the trip. Guess not.

Depends on what you have as data. I personally NEVER put truly sensitive information on portable media. Or if I do, I split things like username and password up, and then zip the sucker.
I also then change the extension of zip file to jpg or bmp. When ready to start work again, I simply restore everything manually. So far it's worked for me. Regards, Bal |

I have UR installed on my tablet PC for travel. Database and linked files are in an easily specified folder structure. i.e. under D:/Datastore/...
I use Goodsync http://www.goodsync.com/ a free synchronization program to sync the data before and after travel. I use Truecrypt to create an encrypted folder for my sensitive stuff. from Austria, |
