"Flashing" toolbar buttons

Hi,
just noticed some of the toolbars buttons sort of "flash" when switching from one item to another. They turn OFF and then ON again. For example Print and Print Preview, or Synchronize, etc.
I think I understand why this happens. I will see if I get used to it. If not, I might end up hiding the affected toolbars and going for keyboard shortcuts to get rid of this effect.
Or is there any way to get rid of this visual side-effect, pls?
