Output window focus uses cpu cycles

We have a new build machine which is a server class machine running 2003 Server on VMware. I have installed the latest VBP 6.2 and am setting up the enviroment and running tests. One thing I have found is that if my build is stopped and the cursor is in the "Output" window the CPU cycles up to 25 - 50%. If I put my focus back to the "Project Steps" it drops to 0-1%. I can repeat this all day long. It is consistently happening. Could this be an issue in VBP or possibly the OS?

Also does anyone have experience running builds on VMware? I am finding that the build are taking twice as long as on my old machine which is a desktop class machine.

Thanks

Tom
