Switching databases causes crashes

I have been working with one database, but now that it has reached 700 Megabytes it seemed prudent to move some data into a second database to keep size down. This has been achieved without problem.

However, I am finding that the program crashes when I switch between the databases, whether by the f6 command, the window menu, or the database toolbar (which only sometimes displays the database names).

Am I better off sticking with one database and letting it continue growing instead? I doubt it would ever get bigger than about 3 Gigabytes.
