Recurring Question
(1) Can I assume that recurring reminder can be set with begin date + recurring span only, i.e. no reminder?
(2) What are the rules for creating additional recurring values in recurring attribute properties, i.e. Every other Tue or Mon and Wed. (3) what's the interplay between reminder 4 days or recurring Tue (starting from today)? Thank you. |

Per Kevin's response via email:
1) I am not quite sure what you are asking here: - A reminder means that a notification (type of your choosing as configured with the options dialog) will occur at the specified time before the point in time defined by the Start Date (and/or Start Time) for that Info Item - a Recurring Reminder means that the Begin Date defined for the Info Item will be advanced when the reminder dismissed which will cause the reminder to "fire" again at the future point in time it is advanced to 2) If you specify an original begin Date that falls on a Tuesday (such as 4/24/2007), then you can specify a Recurring value of 14 days or 2 weeks and it will do the equivalent of "every other Tuesday". There is no way to enter an actual recurrence value of "every other Tues" similar to Outlook (but almost all actual recurring scenarios are accommodated as described above)... 3) I am not sure I understand this question either: - if you set a Reminder value of 4 days, you will get a single reminder 4 days prior to the point in time defined by the Begin Date and/or Begin Time for that Info Item - if the Begin Date is a Tuesday (again, such as 4/24/2007) and you set a Recurring value of 1 week or 7 days (and you have a Reminder value of 4 days) you will a reminder every Friday at the Begin Time (which is "reminding" you 4 days in advance of the point in time defined by the Begin Date and/or Begin Time defined for the Item) The reminder and recurring functionality of Ultra Recall is really very similar to the same functionality of Outlook - the main difference is that a series of recurring reminders isn't actually created in Ultra Recall, the same Info Item simply has its Begin Date advanced each time... |
