Importing messages from Outlook 2007
Sorry if this has been covered, though I can't seem to find the answer. Having used drag/drop to import Outlook folders the messages appear in UR as plain text, with the images rendered along the lines of:
eBay<http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/u...ebay_95x39.gif> <http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/confide...id-emails.html> <http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/u...ts/rtCurve.gif> The "prefer text/rich text clipboard formats" in "import more" is unchecked. Evernote imports the messages perfectly, showing the images. What am I missing? Thanks again. |

I've used UR since first version 1 - and its always imported Outlook Items as read only text - no images, links etc... plus a link to open the original in Outlook.
Now you raise the matter again, it sure would be much better if UR imported rich text, or editable html, along with images, links etc... |

Thanks for your reply.
My problem is that I want to delete a proportion of the original messages from Outlook, so a link back to the original would not work in that case. It looks as if I'll have to find some other method to store old messages. |

Question:
What's the reason you want to store e-mail messages in UR? I can, personally, only think of wanting to search through them with UR which doesn't seem very useful: Searching through messages is better done through a desktop search engine; which is specialized in all kinds of text searches. What I'm doing: - I have a personal folder in Outlook; I store all my old messages in that. I could turn it off in Outlook once I don't want to be bothered by them anymore in Outlook. The personal folder file can remain on your hard disk though. - Use a desktop search tool to search through your personal folder Outlook file. |

yeah - but often times, when you are managing a project or an action with various information Items pertaining, including emails, you want to have them all together in the same place.... there's more to it than that, but that's one good enough reason to want to import/link outlook emails in UR
