Faulty Editor

As said before, UR's editor, riched20.dll, makes UR with all open files crash immediately after importing of a .jpg or other picture format (even for little ones, not only the mega MB variety). 4.2 comes with the newest riched20.dll, from 2011, but the developers (MS?) didn't resolve this problem here and perhaps never will. Older versions, from 2008, don't resolve the problem either but you must go back to the 2007 (!) version of riched20.dll in order to get rid of it. On the other hand, I'm wondering how long that 2007 version will work with modern opering systems; that it works fine with XP 3 doesn't mean it'll work with Windows 8 and / or later Windows versions. Thus, I'm wondering if the choice of riched20.dll for being UR's editor which might have been wise in the past will be wise in the future - or are we supposed to live with intermediate programs then where the editor receives imported .jpg's without crashing, and from which then we are to import items into UR? "Professional" is something else, right? Thank you for your time.

Older versions of riched20.dll work fine on Vista and Windows 7, and I'll be very surprised if they don't work on Windows 8.
