If you have IE9 installed, try uninstalling it. UR hosts IE, which in turn hosts Office documents, and we have seen and other users have reported IE9 hanging when hosted in UR.

I dont see issues with IE 9 directly, not sure why that is the answer to this problem as well as the answer to another post I have about storing web pages.

IE9 just changed the way the do things, thats not a bug. There is nothing for them to fix. What ever features are in there now will be there moving forward, when will UR support these new features?

They broke something if IE9 hangs when hosted in other apps but older versions of IE don't (and the hosting app hasn't changed).

I think UR is a fantastic program; in fact I have all of your programs and use them regularly. In the past I have always received excellent help, but as far as resolutions to IE9 issues I am disappointed.

If there was something we could do about it, we would, but we can't fix bugs in other vendors' products.

Is there a way to not have office open directly in UR and just open in office directly?

HippyCraig:

You can harp on Kinook all you want but it won't resolve the IE9 bugs which are causing problems with many programs, not just Ultra Recall. I had it installed and it was working well here, but four different programs on my computer which rely on the IE engine started failing - all at the same time.

I finally uninstalled IE9 and all the issues immediately resolved. I have read of many possible cuases for these issues at the MSDN forums but there is no specific fix out yet. This is not a problem that other software developers can fix; all are waiting on Microsoft.

BTW, when you uninstall IE9 via the control panel, IE8 is automatically reinstalled.

I am not harping on Kinook, I think they do a wonderful job. I always recommend there products to other users and I all there products on a daily basis. In this case I just disagreed.

If your just trolling around looking to start a flame war then this will be my last post on this issue.

Flame war? Are you kidding? Chill out!

I was just trying to reinforce what Kinook has been trying to tell you: that IE9 is not working with some other programs. I noticed that you kept posting that you were disappointed with Ultra Recall for not fixing a problem that only Microsoft can fix. I thought I would point out that other programs are not able to work with IE9 as well, in case you thought it was only Ultra Recall.
