connecting search columns & attributes
IMO, it may make some sense to permit adding attribute fields automatically if user adds columns to the search results via <F9>
For example, let's say user is looking at a bunch of items & realizes that some have been completed so adds two columns to the view: completed & completed date. User can't enter data in those fields until going thru the motions of inserting these fields to the attributes for each item. Even tho user has option of adding completed flag on the fly, the option described above could be useful as another approach. Thank you for your consideration. |

You can multi-select and add attributes to all selected items at once.

Select all of the item(s) that you wish to add attribute(s) to. Ctrl+3, Ctrl+A to select all children/search results; Ctrl+1, Ctrl+A to select all siblings of the selected tree item; Ctrl+click to individually select/deselect item(s); etc.
Then go to Item Attributes and add the attribute(s). Ctrl+4, Insert, enter/select desired attribute and press Enter. |

OK, thank you.
I will folo this but don't you see any merit in being able to add attributes automatically by making selections via <F9> or am I not conventionalizing this correctly, i.e. starting from the search results rather than the original tree items. |
