Windows 8.1 compatibility

Are there any plans to make UR compatible with Windows 8.1? I finally upgraded to the latest version of UR a few weeks ago. I now have a new computer with Windows 8.1 and UR no longer works properly. IE11 comes with Windows 8.1 which is where I think most of the problem is as some web pages no longer display in UR.

We tested UR 5.1 on Windows 8.1 and didn't notice any problems. What exactly do you mean by 'no longer works properly'?

It seems to be a problem with that web page when displayed in any app using an embedded IE instance on Win8. For instance, the MFCIE sample http://www.kinook.com/Download/Temp/mfcie.zip (may also require http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=29) has the same behavior. It displays the error message "Object doesn't support property or method 'attachEvent'", and UR does too if browser popups/dialogs blocking are disabled (Tools | Options | Browser). Not sure what that means.

Can you make it work again? My UR database is full of links to Evernote notes, which can no longer be viewed. UR and Evernote are great together.

I suspect it would require either an update to embedded IE or the Evernote web site.

Here is the fix for anyone having this problem.

Use REGEDIT and browse to this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULA TION

Add a new DWORD value of 8000 (0x1F40) and name it UltraRecall.exe
