Setting Reminder

User enters a task
User sets a due date
User sets a start date
User sets reminder = 1 day

Reminder triggers in 5 mins

It would seem to me that the above reminder would trigger after 12midnight of the start date.

What am I missing? Not all tasks need to be started at a certain time.

Thank you.

reminder triggers on/at:
(begin date/time) - (reminder value)

To see when the reminder will be triggered, see "pending reminder" attribute

Yes, thank you, but that doesn't explain why it triggers when it does. It looks to me like user has to set a start time but I'm not sure.

When I create a new task, set its Begin Date to 3/12/2007 and Reminder to 1 day, its Pending Reminder attribute becomes 3/11/2007 12:00 AM. Is it doing something different for you? Please ZIP and send or post a .urd file that demonstrates. Thanks.

Maybe not. I have to double check but I was also thinking about reminders differently.

I thought of it as going forward not backward, i.e. I wanted to be reminded 1 day after begin date but before the due date (remember.... you were supposed to do this?) but I see your method is a tickler for an upcoming event.

For some reason this continues to confuse me. Thanks.
