Error: Access violation when creating new database

When I try to create a new database or open an existing database I receive the following error:

"Error: Access violation at 0x2DF9A9AE (tried to read from 0x0000000C), program terminated"

UR then shuts down. I've tried creating and saving the new database to the UR default location (per the help file) in My Documents. I've also tried saving to the Ultra Recall folder with the same error and result.

Interestingly I had created my first database two or three days ago, successfully, and now cannot open that one up either without receiving the above error. The databases (two) I tried to create today with the resulting error do show up in my hard drive directories, so they are actually being created before UR shuts down.

Any suggestions please?

An additional note - I tried to open the three other databases in the Samples folder of UR with the same error, so things aren't looking to good. The default database (Document Summary) opens fine when UR first starts up, by the way.

For reference I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 and UR version 1.2a.
