UR doesn't take focus when opened

If I have another program open (e.g. Powerpoint) and I then open UR (latest version), the UR opens OK but is under the Powerpoint rather than taking the focus. I have to move powerpoint around till I find the header for UR and click on it. This is a nuisance. When I open a program, I expect it to take precedence and for me to decide when it is to lose focus.
Is this a bug?

Nothing has changed in that regard in any recent UR version (if ever), and it works as expected here. And actually, it's Windows, not UR, that decides whether to allow a window to come to the foreground.

I pray for the day that UR would be ported to Linux ...

IF it is Windows that decides if a newly started program takes precedence or not, then UR must be pretty low on the totem pole, because almost every other program I use takes focus as soon as it is started.

I am getting more and more frustrated by this behavior. When I click on a program, EXCEPT for UR, it ALWAYS comes to the front of all other programs I am running, regardless of whether or not it is a Microsoft product. BUT WITH UR, it goes to the back and I have to fish it out of the woodwork to use.
If this is a Windows decision, why do all other programs work as one would expect, and UR not? Are you sure this is not a bug?

Don,

It looks like I'm running a similar system to yours and I just ran a test - had two programs running full screen, then open UR from the Start menu, UR opened on top.

Normally, once my system is booted I launch Outlook, then a MLS program, then UR from the desktop - all of these I leave running during the day, each of which resides on the task bar. Selecting from the task bar (obviously) puts the selected program on top.

Something could be amiss with the UR installation (and/or re-download the installation file), have you tried re-installing?

This would be frustrating to me also.

I just downloaded the latest version and it seems to work OK now. I will cross my fingers.
