AVs again - but only occassionally

I started a thread a while back about how worrying AVs were to me at least.

Well, I'm delighted to say again that I don't often encounter them now except for the occasional ones like today.

The circumstances in which they arose are the same when I tried to move an item by Right Click then selecting Link/Move (Alt+L).

When I tried to move it to the intended destination (A folder I called Inbox) by dragging it instead, there was no AV and it moved there correctly.

I certainly Kinook can finally hammer in the last couple of nails and get rid of them forever.

The attached a AV3.jpg is the error I encountered today.

I have another two jpgs captured from another AV event which I'm not posting because the post only allows one jpg.

I looked at the Help About in the current version I'm using and it says 3.2.6.

I did an update check and it says I'm using the latest version :
New Version Check

Ultra Recall

Your version: 3.2.6

Current version: 3.2.6

You have the latest version.

Click here to see the history of changes.
-----------

So the only way I could verify that I'm using 3.2.6 instead of 3.2.6.1 was that I copied the

C:\Program Files\UltraRecall to another folder and compared the files after I have installed UltraRecall 3.2.6.1 that I downloaded today.

It still says that it is 3.2.6

A comparison of the files using size and CRC showed only one file has changed and that is

unins000.dat 95048 bytes versus 86541 bytes

So it does not look it will be solved by the suggested possible solution at :

Kinook Software Forums - Updated to 3.2.6: AVs are back
"Fixed in the latest download at http://www.kinook.com/Download/UltraRecallProEval.exe (v3.2.6.1) -- thanks for the detailed repro case.

"
http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthre...?threadid=3207

Anyway, now that I know I have 3.2.6.1 installed, I'll keep an eye out for AVs if and when they do recurr and report back.

Ideally, the Help About should show the exact version build and date of the version so we can easily establish which version we have.

Also, perhaps an easy way to cut and copy versions for reporting back to this forum so we can all help to nail down such problems.

Thanks for the feedback in any case.

Hi bookman,
How are you? It appears
1. UR does show the version number in Help | Install Info.
2. The latest version is 3.2.6.2.

Thanks armsys and ashwken,

Since I backed a copy of the files C:\Program Files\UltraRecall, I ran UltraRecall.exe from the backup and can confirm that I had the AV while running 3.2.6.3 as I can see the version info from the Help About, Install Info. That confirms what I said earlier

"A comparison of the files using size and CRC showed only one file has changed and that is

unins000.dat 95048 bytes versus 86541 bytes"
