UR Support of Outlook 2007

Does anyone have trouble with the linkage of email messages to UR Info Items?
Outlook 2007
UR3.5c
Thanks.

In accordance with the use manual, UR is compatible with Office 2007. In Outlook 2007, when I click either UR button, nothing happens, that is, neither link nor content is copied to URD.

It turns out to be my mistake in the Import setting. Yes, UR 3.5c supports Outlook 207.

The problem is with Outlook 2007 - see here: http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthre...t=outlook+2007

Also see: http://wiki.activityowner.com/index....007_hyperlinks - go to bottom of page:

OutLook 2007 hyperlinks

Outlinker will not work in "out of the box" in Outlook 2007 as MS has removed support for the Outlook protocol (http://blog-well.com/2007/05/28/179/). To enable the the Outlook URI protocol in Outlook 2007 your registry needs some additions. Click right on Media:Outlook2007links.reg (http://wiki.activityowner.com/images...k2007links.reg) and choose to download the target to to disk. Edit it if you have a non-standard Outlook.exe location. Double click on it to run it. This has been tested by 3 people and found to work now.

I thought there was another later post that was created by Kinook - but couldn't find it...

igoldsmid,

I'm grateful for your high value technical knowledge. You tell me a lot of things I didn't know. I will study every piece of information in your post.

For OL2007 SP1, I regret the upgrade for the following facts:
1. Frequent crashes;
2. Troublesome connection with UR;
3. Removal of "Advanced Find" support
4. Difficult to inset reminders;
5. The Reminder Bell icon is now hidden.

For the "Advanced Find," the following OL2003 feature is completely removed from OL2007: Global search of different Outlook item types (messages, appointments, notes,...etc.) For example, searching all items created today in the entire PST is now impossible in OL2007.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Armstrong

When I reported the OL2007 compatibility, I didn't realize it was due to my complete removal of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0

Indeed, after deletion of the key, the UR buttons (store and link) become functional in OL2007.

Igoldsmid, thanks for your help.

I love the idea of Outlook Protocol. Eg, outlook:\\Personal%20folders\UR\
Is it possible for the URL to go further to a specific message, a specific appointment, or a specific task,...etc.?
