Panes behavior - open on click

I have a lower screen resolution and use the Auto Hide with Item Attributes and Item Notes.

But whenever I move my mouse cursor to the scrollbar of an item, I move a bit too much to the right side and either Item Attributes or Notes slides in.

Is there a way to make the panes 'open on click' similar to the Bookmarks and Pages in Adobe Acrobat?

don't think so ...

you can make those panes to be tabs of the chosen pane, but they won't auto-hide, you'd need again to click on the another tab to "hide"
