I am certain this has been asked 1 billion times, but...

A way to manipulate the tables...

Add, Remove columns, rows

Sort columns, rows

Increase/Decrease column, row widths, height

Insert Column, Row

Sorting

Is there a way to use Excel instead of Word?

the file format that is used in UR is rtf, so no.
