Need to Press Enter for New Topic

I am continually forgetting to press enter after I name a new topic in the tree. Is there a reason for having to press enter. If there is not a reason is it possible that this step could be eliminated?

Why do you have to press Enter? Pressing Tab, clicking somewhere else with the mouse, etc., completes editing of the item title as well.

On occasion when I haven't hit enter, the entry for topic name disappears.

I haven't seen that before. The next time it happens, post the exact steps to reproduce (along with the info from Help | About | Install Info) and we will investigate. Thanks.
