switching form display on/off per Item

I use forms of one kind or another on every Item in my database. I find this a very efficient way of viewing/adding/changing the values of numerous Properties via the form display in the Item Details Pane.

However, when browsing Items, I like to have as much screen real estate as possible. If I want to temporarily switch off the display of the Form for a particular Item I have to change its Template - which is OK but a bit clunky.

I would like to ask for a more immediate and productive way to switch on/off the display of a form on a per Item basis.

Does this make sense?

Any one else want this?

How does turning off the form give more real estate (the Detail pane can be sized just as small whether it is showing a form or not)?

I suppose, igoldsmid wants more real estate, while still being able to see the item details. But the form at the top of the item means that details pane have to be effectively bigger.

I think this is a good suggestion. Maybe there could be a small +,- on the top left corner of the form that would expand/collapse it, (and being able to assign keyboard shortcut would be a big plus)

This is implemented in UR v4 (View | Other Windows | Show Forms).
