Each Template has a Form attribute.  If this attribute is has no value, the Item Details pane default viewer for that item type will be used.  If a Form defined in the info database is assigned to a template item's Form attribute, that form will be displayed in the Form Viewer when an item based on that template is selected, providing another method for viewing and editing the item's attributes.
